28/11/16

Are you an international expert or student interested in recent advanced studies concerning barley leaf diseases? Join ICARDA’s 2nd International Workshop on Barley Leaf Diseases (IWBLD) held in Rabat, Morocco, on April 5-7, 2017. Through this workshop, International Scientific Committee (ISC) is aiming to provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas relating to understanding and controlling leaf diseases of barley.

Most of the barley in WANA region is cultivated under challenging moisture and temperature conditions. Leaf diseases of barley are of economic importance and cause heavy losses in the region, with chemical control measures seldom used in this region. An integrated approach is needed to ensure sustainable barley production of the highest quality possible for various end uses. Producing a healthy barley crop biotic stress management is an important requirement so that it can withstand the abiotic stresses in the region.
