12th Annual Steering and Executive Committee Meetings

Date: 20.03.2009

Dear members of the Steering Committee for the CGIAR-CAC Program, Dear colleagues,

After having asked for your preferences and after having pondered all options, the 12th SCM has now been set to be hold on 12. to 14. September 2009, in Tbilisi, Georgia. (For information: The CACAARI Meeting may be hold on 15.9., however, this is up for discussion as GFAR is suggesting an earlier date).

I know that this decision may not satisfy some of you who had opted for other dates. It is hard to accommodate everyone, but we tried to find a date that suits most members of the committee. I am counting on your understanding, and I hope that if you have planned otherwise, you may still be able to modify your plans in order to allocate these three days in mid-September to come to the beautiful city of Tbilisi, Georgia.

This will be an important meeting for the future of the CAC program, in the context of the CGIAR Change Management. The Ministers of Agriculture of Georgia and Armenia, and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, have all announced their participation. Furthermore, we expect to have many donors, and the research institutions from Georgia presenting themselves.

Best regards,
Christopher Martius.
