Central Asia and the Caucasus Regional Face-to-face Consultations

CACAARI is expanding its membership to include new stakeholder groups in agricultural research for development (ARD) in Central Asia and the Caucasus and recognizes farmers as the key players in agricultural research for development. To mobilize and coordinate farmer participation in ARD, CACAARI is organizing the Consortium of Farmer Organizations in Central Asia and the Caucasus (CFO-CAC) as a member of the Association. The first meeting of the Consortium is scheduled for October 14, 2009 in Business Center “Poytakht” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
CACAARI is expanding its membership to include new stakeholder groups in agricultural research for development (ARD) in Central Asia and the Caucasus including the non-governmental sector, vibrant and active in the region. To mobilize and coordinate civil society’s participation in ARD, CACAARI would like to organize a Consortium of NGO Organizations in Central Asia and the Caucasus (CNGO-CAC) which could be a member of the Association. The first meeting of the Consortium is scheduled for October 15, 2009 in Business Center “Poytakht” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
CACAARI is organizing Face-to-Face Regional Consultations on October 16-17, 2009 in Business Center “Poytakht” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Face-to-face Consultation in Tashkent is a meeting of strategic thinkers representing different groups of stakeholders in agricultural research for development in the CAC region. The participants are to discuss the findings of the Regional Review (http://www.cacaari.org/filesarchive/reports/KeyIssues_CAC-II_Final_26Aug.pdf) and of Regional e-consultations and finalize the strategic key issues important for agricultural research for development in the region. The conclusions of the meeting will feed into a global synthesis, to be taken forward to the Montpellier Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD) in March 2010 and translated into action.
