ICARDA has worked with partner institutions in Jordan for over 30 years, and these partnerships continue to expand. A memorandum of understanding with the Jordan National Alliance Against Hunger (JAAH) was signed on 13 November, by H.E. Trad Al Fayes, Deputy Head of JAAH, and Mahmoud Solh, Director General of ICARDA. The agreement covers various areas: information exchange, meetings and conferences, exchange visits by researchers, joint studies on poverty mapping and other subjects, and specialized training programs.

The JAAH is a non-profit NGO, and part of the International Alliance Against Hunger. It aims to help reduce hunger in Jordan, and to contribute to achieving the UN's Millennium Developmental Goal of eradicating extreme hunger and poverty. Activities of the JAAH, implemented through partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, civil society and the private sector, are supervised by a steering committee chaired by H.R.H. Princess Basma Bint Talal.
