ICRISAT Honors Dr Raj Paroda
Dr Raj Paroda, ADG, International Cooperation, will receive the 'Outstanding Research Partner' award from ICRISAT on the occasion of its 35th Anniversary celebrations, 22-24 November.

During the period he was the DG of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Dr Paroda played an instrumental role in strengthening cooperation between the Indian national agricultural research system and ICRISAT. Dr Paroda has served as the chair and vice-chair of ICRISAT's Board of Trustees. In recognition of his contribution to the Center's development, ICRISAT has named its Gene Bank as R.S. Paroda Gene Bank, which contains germplasm accessions from over 130 countries.

"Over the last 35 years, with the help of our partner agricultural scientists and science leaders like yourself, ICRISAT has matured into a Center of Excellence for agricultural science to serve the poor of the SAT countries of the Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia," Dr William Dar, Director General of ICRISAT has said in a letter to Dr Paroda.

Dr Paroda has served as the chair and vice-chair of ICRISAT's Board of Trustees. In recognition of his contribution to the Center's development, ICRISAT has named its Gene Bank as R.S. Paroda Gene Bank, which contains germplasm accessions from over 130 countries.
